Derrick’s Tea Room has been a Tea Room for over 100 years, established in the 18th Century.  The original property dates back to the 1500’s when it was originally three stone masons’ cottages which over the years were knocked through into the one building as the Tea Room grew, which is the Tea Room as you see it today.

In the Tea Room we have many fascinating pictures that we have gathered over the years helping us to track the history piece by piece, picture by picture.

Some of which show the Tea Room taken in July 1968 when the great flood of Cheddar happened, showing the road outside with raging water flowing past the building.  Also pictures of the good old days when people used to come to Cheddar in a Charabang and of course the world famous Lion Rock which is directly behind our Tea Room.

We are still gathering history on the building and Tea Room, so if you have any interesting stories or photos for us we would love to hear from you.
